I’m Teddy Bell – your chief “Teddy,” the creative force and lead celebrant behind Married By A Teddy. I'm your soon-to-be biggest fan on your wedding day (and probably long before that, too). My mission? To make sure your ceremony isn’t just legal – it’s legendary.

I’m not the type of celebrant who reads off a script and calls it a day. I’m here to make sure you feel supported, celebrated, and genuinely excited about every moment. I’ll craft a ceremony as extraordinary as your love story – packed with personality, meaning, humour, and a few happy tears (from you or me… no judgement). You might even find a fun surprise or two along the way. Don’t worry – I’ll never make you do anything that doesn’t feel like you (unless it’s just a little bit of cheeky fun).

I’ve attended weddings where I felt like a number in the crowd. I’ve seen ceremonies that felt disconnected – as if they were designed for someone else entirely. That’s why I became a celebrant: to flip the script. Because your story deserves better. You deserve better.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I’m a creatively driven, confident, and proudly queer-identifying human. I’ve spent my life collecting stories and experiences through travel, friendship, and a deep desire to understand and celebrate what makes people tick.

My background blends education, performance, and design, and that mix is at the heart of every ceremony I create. I bring intention, creativity, charisma, and a flair for the fabulous to the table.

I’m also high-functioning, high-masking, and mildly autistic – and that’s not a limitation, it’s my superpower. It gives me the focus to fine-tune the details, the insight to anticipate your needs, and the passion to put real humanity into every ceremony. The result? An empowering, affirming, and joy-filled experience for you and your guests.

He’s my rhythm-keeper and cuddle puddle in one. We’re a bit of a 2-for-1 deal—Disco loves an adventure, and I love having him by my side whenever possible. Yes, he can absolutely come to your ceremony.

Whether it’s a theatre show or the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, I’m inspired by artistry and storytelling in all its forms.

TRAVELLING SOMEWHERE. I’M TRAVEL OBSESSED.

I’ve explored the world and love what travel teaches us: perspective, culture, and connection. Need honeymoon tips? Pick my brain about any of these—I’ve got recs from Milan to Melbourne.

SITTING BEHIND A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT

Playing whatever the mood calls for. Recorder, piano, oboe, saxophone, clarinet, bassoon… I can play them all. And don’t laugh at the recorder – it’s a fierce instrument when played properly.
